2007 turned out to be a fantastic vintage for Rainborne producing 228 cases of powerful and hedonistic yet balanced wine. The texture is creamy and the natural acid gives the wine impressive length and the ability to pair with many types of cuisine. The vineyard is in Bennett Valley, at the foot of Sonoma Mountain in Sonoma County approximately four miles from the Russian River Valley. Aged 11 months in French oak barrels, this wine has personality, not only will it age gracefully, it will also change significantly overtime. The palate will soften, the aromatics will heighten and the complexity will increase. I recommend trying the wine at many stages it will drink beautifully from 2010 to 2015. Properly stored it can be enjoyed until 2020 and beyond.
